Following His lead

To me the central number one most important thing that a Christian can do after giving their lives to Jesus is to live out a life of faith. To allow God to direct their steps.

The Bible tells us in Romans 12:3 that God has given each of us a measure of faith.

Hebrews 11:1 remind us that that faith that God gave is not for “pie-in-the sky,-by-and-by” but for now, right now.

It is for the right now when your child is wandering and you don’t know how to get them back. It is for the right now when you don’t have the money to pay the light bill. It is for when you’re not sure what you’re going to do with your life because everything seems to be crumbling around you.

Choose to really live out your faith in God right now.

Way too often I’m noticed that mature Christians have not developed this gift God has given them. They’ve developed other gifts such as kindness, gentleness, self-control, and meekness. Yet, they have put off really using this gift of faith because it’s hard.

I get that, because I did the same thing. I get that it’s easy to feel like “one day I’ll feel like really trusting God. But until then I will run my own show.”

It’s easy to believe that one day trusting God with the hard stuff won’t be scary.

I’m not gonna lie, it is going to be scary. But you’ll have God, the God of the universe, leading you and guiding you all the way.

As you follow God’s leading your life, you’ll be amazed at the doors He can open for you. You’ll be amazed at how he uses you to reach others when you thought you had nothing to give them. You’ll be amazed at what He will do with your gift that He gave you. Your faith.

Life is short. Don’t waste any of it.

Pray with me.

Father God

I come to you humbly and ask that you help me to live out the life of faith that you’ve called me to live. Help me to hear your voice daily and to follow your lead. I realize that this life is not mine to live. It belongs to you, to live for your glory. Help me to do that.

In Jesus name Amen.

Why Charley Fell

chab

So last night I had the strangest dream. In the dream there was this little old lady that was stealing from this company. Even though I wasn’t officially in charge I knew that I had to catch her and give her to the police. But every time I tried she slipped out the back door.

Now there was another person, a young male, who stole and I was chasing him as well. In the end they both were caught. I caught the young man. And my partner caught (in an area far from where I was) the elderly woman.

When I finally saw the woman up close I was shocked because she was not your typical older woman. No, she was a well know Christian speaker whom I admire greatly.

When I woke up and immediately asked God what that was about.

He came me an image of Charley Brown charging at and kicking the ball.  Charley Brown but it had been awhile since seeing it so I went to YouTube and saw the cause of the fall. Lucy.

Charley wants more than anything else to kick the ball. Lucy promises him that she will not let him down. That she will hold that ball for him. This time it is a sure thing. So Charley who should know better, trusts her. He runs for his dream and lands flat on his back as he does every time.

I believe that God was telling me that as anyone who puts anything before God is destined to fall.

The enemy Satan is like Lucy. He gets us to trust him but using the thing that we want most and holding it out in front of us (as in the case of Charley Brown) or who tempts us with what we desire (as in the case of the Christian speaker in my dream).

Both people have one thing in common, one thing that brought their downfall. They did not submit themselves wholly and completely to God.

As Christians we are to…

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.- Philippians 4:6-7

And we are also to …

Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.-Ephesians 6:11

Stay close to God, put on your amour, surrender every dream, goal, and plan of your life to God.

Do not go kick that ball unless you sought God in prayer about it.

If you lose your peace, stop and go over what you have been doing or thinking that might of cause you to do so and then go to Him in prayer and ask for His guidance. He will be faithful to give it.

We need to submit fully surrender ever area of our lives to God so that we will stop looking like fools in front of the world and start being a powerful force that will change it.
