Back in the Saddle Again
Imagine that you are riding atop a beautiful, strong, trustworthy, and brave horse that is carrying you to parts unknown. Try and picture your hands, as you sit atop the horse.
What are they doing? Holding the reins, right? Now imagine that they are folded in your lap as the horse has no reins but is controlled instead by an unseen force.
If you are like me, the thought of riding such a horse makes you more than a bit uncomfortable.
Yet, as a Christian, you will occasionally have the opportunity to ride on such a horse.
Wait, scratch that.
As a Christian, you are always traveling on such a horse as you journey through this life. Yet, that fact is easy to forget because life has a way of lulling you into this false sense of security in believing that you are walking a path of your own choosing, with God as kind of your sidekick.
Yet we know the opposite is true. For the Bible says that.
The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.
(Proverbs 16:9)
Or in other words…God is in control.
So when you next find yourself startled into the realization that you are sitting atop a horse with no reins, don’t panic. Instead look around and enjoy the view. And know that though you may not know exactly what the future has in store, you can be assured that God does and will lead you to exactly where you need to be.
Don’t Quit
In the midst of a very busy day God has stopped me and put on my heart to tell you;
DO NOT GIVE UP
Someone has just called it quits, has said, ” I have had it! I am through!”
God is saying to you, “I see you. I know that you are frustrated, upset, exhausted, but lean into me just a little bit more and TRUST ME, for I am going to do a mighty thing in your life. Just when you thought all was lost you will see that you have gained more than you ever thought possible. So keep going, keeping putting me first, and you will soon be on the other side.”
Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. – Galatians 6:9 ESV
Don’t let “this” keep you from God
Heart Check
Trusting God to lead you sometimes means allowing Him to lead you into places that you don’t want to go but that are necessary for growth and preparation.
Yesterday I went through some hard things. No one was killed, or maimed, or hurt, but what did happen is that God allowed an area of my heart to be exposed that, if left to grow, would of taken my focus of serving and helping others in His name, and put squarely on pleasing myself.
I realize now that even a pencil dot of me wants recognition for serving in His name, it will be a pencil dot too much.
This is not about me, it’s about, has always been about Him. So I repent of my foolish pride, and I give all that I am, once again to God, knowing that God loves me, notices me, and that is enough.
I am not sure when that door to England will open.
Maybe it will be after some more heart checks concerning other matters.
But through it all I am trusting God that He would not lead me into anything, that He would not allow anything that would not be for my ultimate good.
If you are hurt or wounded make sure that you turn to God not away from Him.
What you have experienced may have just been a horrible act done to you, or a mistake, or even of your own doing, but God can use it to shape you and mold you…or maybe he just wants to hold and heal you.
Whatever the case…Keep turning to Him. Not only so that he may work through you, but so you may to be loved and restored, because He loves you, You are important to Him!!!! And so am I!!!!
