Yesterday I happened upon this book Kisses From Katie and upon seeing the cover my spirit was stirred. I knew I had to buy it and am so glad I did.

This book is the true story of a woman who at age 18 left a comfortable life behind and trusted God enough to let Him lead her into all that He had for her, even when it was not what she had expected it to be. She is now 22 and is the adoptive mother of 14 girls! Wow! Right!

I have not finished the book yet but I was struck by the chapter in which she describes how early on she struggled with (among other things) separation and loneliness at night while experiencing pure joy(among other things)  during the day. She wraps up the chapter by saying…

“No matter how many contradictions I struggled with, how difficult certain situations were, no matter how lonely I got, one truth remained firmly grounded in my heart: I was in the center of God’s will; I was doing what I was created to do.”

Oh that we would be a people of such faith! That our willingness to trust God and follow Him into all that He has for us would far outweigh the struggles with “feelings” that we may encounter.

How to live an exciting life

choice

Sometimes when God shows us the big picture of what He is calling us to, it seems over whelming, or even undo-able. Yet when we take things step by step, keeping our eyes firmly focused on him, life gets fairly easy to manage.

Take for instance this blog, when God told me to start it, I did so in obedience to Him, and yet had my doubts on how long it would last, as my blog track record was something like 0 and 4. I started them in my own power and about five posts in they died a horrible blog death (whatever that is).

However this blog is different. God not only started it, He sustains it by putting on my heart what next to write about.

I cannot tell you how strongly I know that God wants you to

Expect His Goodness!!!

This is an area that we as Christians need to come up in, as most of us have various reasons for not expecting any good thing from God.

I know in my spirit that this is a topic that I will be writing more and more about in the future, but for this post let me just say that

if you are reading this God wants you to know that His Goodness has nothing to do who you are or what you deserve.

It has to do with who He is.

A.W. Pink states that…..

The goodness of God is the life of the believer’s trust. It is this excellency in God which most appeals to our hearts. Because His goodness endureth forever, we ought never to be discouraged.

How can we trust God to move in our lives in a great way unless we trust Him to be good to us!

If you struggle in this area ask him to show you why?

He is faithful to do so.

God wants us to be excited about what He is going to do in our lives!!!

He wants to watch and wait for His goodness.

Just like the photo above shows, it is our choice about how we are to live.

Are we to live a bored life, always focused on self (and what we can or cannot do in our own strength)?

Or are we going to be determined to live an exciting life expecting the Goodness of God around every turn.

Knowing that He longs to be good to us!!!

God Loves you and has great thing in store for you!!! May your faith be strengthened to trust Him!

Trust God

Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. – PSALM 40:4

Wow! Great quote!

God does not look for perfection, He looks for obedience. ~ John Edmund Haggai

What signs does God give someone at 3 a.m.? This kind!

ministry

I woke up at three am, and while usually I wake up amidst Christian songs filling my head and good thought for my day, for whatever reason (maybe even for the purpose here) I woke up and the doubts started coming.

You know the doubts that come when you attempt to trust God against all odds. The doubts that say, “You know this will not work right?” “That you are going to look foolish in front of everyone you know?” “You know that you are going to do a disservice for Christ by showing those on the fence how you can get your hopes up and God will not be faithful to come through?” “You know that you are blowing it, big time….better to quite, hide, shrink back. Give up blogging and give up hope of ever going anywhere for God or doing anything great for Him…When it comes to having success….let’s face it you are just not the type!”

Wow…so glad I do not wake up with these thought on a daily basis!

So anyway here I was….it was the middle of the night and the odds were stacked against me to have any kind of a great day…..but then my daughter heard me get up and wanted to remind me of something she called me (at 3 am) after talking with her I decided to check and see if there was any texts  (at 3 am), there was only one.

Before I tell you what I said you must know a few things

  1. My name is Lisa
  2. My friend works at night, at an apartment cabana, where she is there to give night visitors the packages that came in the day
  3. She sent the text hours before I receive it

It said that a package came in from the United Kingdom for someone named Lisa.

Now while some may think that is not really a sign from God, keep in mind that it was three am, doubts were filling my head and I believe it was just His way of reminding me that He is in this! He is the orchestrator and perfecter of the plans that He has for my life and yours.

Every time along the way when I have needed a boost to my faith, there was a small sign to keep me believing that I was going in the right direction.

So while one little sign may be like a snowflake, you get enough of them and it is a blizzard that cannot be ignored.

God will let you know if the path you are on is the path He set before you…just look for the signs.
