Trust this

Be assured, if you walk with Him and look to Him, and expect help from Him, He will never fail you. ― George Müller

Why we need to put down our paddles and pick up our pom-poms

cheer

I am a person who really does not like conflict. In fact I just ordered a pair of plain black glasses and was given a pair with black on the front and animal print (ick) on the sides.

Did I  give them back, insisting they be fixed? No I just decided to live with them. And I have.

But there is one thing that I cannot live with anymore. Something that it eating away at me.

It is the way we as Christians encourage (or don’t encourage) each other.

We are supposed to be a people of faith who simply believe. We are supposed to have a childlike faith.

And yet when someone comes to us excitedly telling us what God just promised them, the usual reaction that we have is to take out our huge paddles, worn with use, and smack that idea down so hard  as to shatter it in a million pieces.

We tell them all the reasons why it is not God, instead of believing that God does want to do miraculous things in and through His people.

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that we are to discourage other Christians from believing God’s promises.  In fact it says just the opposite;

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, … respect those who labor among you… esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. And we urge you, brothers, admonish the idle, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, and be patient with them all. See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.”                                                  (1 Thessalonians 5:11–15, ESV)

Look at that!! Paul is saying that to do nothing is not a good thing, so when did we as Christians have come to believe that passivity is the best option?

No, Gods words tells us to not tear down but “build each other up.”

If we are told an idea by a Christian that we find hard to believe, we need to just cheer them on, and then pray for them.

If they are believing sincerely that God is telling them something foolish, and we believe that God is a good God, then why on earth would we think that we have to stop them from some horrible ending. If God is a good God who loves us, wouldn’t He make sure that even if we mishear, He will get us to where we need to be.

The world bashes us enough, and that is ok because they do not believe in a powerful God who loves them, but we should not be bashing each other.

Families are supposed to be our soft spot to land, so let’s be determined to put down our paddles and pick up our pom-poms and make it our business to cheer each other on and believe that God has the best in store for them.

We are called “believers” after all!!

Don’t let this one thing stop your miracle from happening

Flower

In Mark 5:36 Jesus said…

Do not fear, only believe.” (ESV)
Don’t be afraid; just believe.” (NIV)
Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.” (NLT)
Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing.” (AMP)
Don’t listen to them; just trust me.” (The Message)

No matter how you slice it that is the word of God to us.

He wants us to stop being so afraid of what we think can happen and just believe and do what He is telling us to do.

In the case above Jesus was talking to a man who wanted to Jesus to heal his daughter but was met with discouragement in the form of a well meaning friend who told him that it was to late, to not bother Jesus any further.

How many of us are on the brink of a miracle when a well meaning friend or family member comes alongside us, puts a arm around out shoulder and says, “Its to late for you, it’s best to give up that dream.” Or “What you are believing for is never going to happen. It is better you quit now before people start to call you crazy, you lose your job, you lose your home, you lose your friends…” etc.

How many of us will find out when we get to heaven that if we just simply believed Jesus and held fast to His promises just a little bit longer that we would have seen amazing things happen?

God wants to do great things through you so that others may see His work in your life and come to know Him. Yet God is stopped when we let our fear override our faith!!

If God is telling you to believe for something big, if it lines up with scripture, and you have asked God to redirect your steps if it is not Him, and He is still asking you to simply believe His word and press in, then Press in!!

Don’t quit, don’t give up!

Every time fear creeps in go to God in prayer and worship and Keep Going!!

I am cheering you on!!

I am praying for you!!!

With Christ all things are possible if you simply believe!!!!!!

Who God is

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” (Psalm 18:2, NIV)

Why God wants us to appear foolish

Faith

I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13, NLT)

People think I am crazy, that is no joke.

They think I am nuts to believe that God would be so good to me, that even though the odds are stacked far against me, that He would get me a job in England and give me money to move there.

But doesn’t the word say that it is our faith that moves mountains! It is not our “kind of-maybe-sometimes-a-little-bit-half-hearted-belief,” but our Faith!

What is faith?

The Bible says that “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” (Hebrews 11:1)

I have been assured by God that His will for me is England.

When God gives us a call on our life it is wise to give it back to God saying “I am believing that you are calling me to do this, at this time, if it is not you God then please redirect my steps.”

If He does not redirect our steps then He wants us to just have faith and believe.

He wants to open the doors for us to the miraculous so that other Christians will be amazed at what He has done and begin to trust Him to work in their life in a greater way.

God wants unbelievers to see our faith and hunger for God’s hand in their own life.

What is the radical thing is God calling you to believe for?

Have you given it back to God?

Have you stepped out in faith and shared with others?

If you are waiting to share about Gods goodness until “after” He makes “it” happen, then you will not have the “FAITH IMPACT” on others that you were supposed to have.

Jesus never told anyone “your kinda believing has made you whole” or “Never have I seen such great half-hearted belief.”

I believe that God wants us to look like fools, so that when He comes through people will notice!

Jesus is calling you out to the deep.

Believe Big and when God settles in your heart what to believe for, Share Bigger!!!

I have no idea what is in store for me there but I know that God’s plans for me are good.

As are His plans for you!!!

So believe your marriage will be restored!!!!

Believe that your sick child will be made whole!!!!

Believe that you will succeed in your business!!!!

And even believe that God will make a way and a life for me and my son in England!!!!

Remember…

We are call believers not watch-wait-and-seeers!”

Watch God and be amazed!!!!
