God is too wise not to know all about us, and what is really best for us to be, and to have. And He is too good, not to desire our highest good; and too powerful, desiring, not to effect it. If, then, what He has appointed for us does not seem to us the best, or even to be good, our true course is to remember that He sees further than we do, and that we shall understand Him in time, when His plans have unfolded themselves; meanwhile casting all our care upon Him, since He careth for us. – Henry Parry Liddon

Great Quote about trusting God
To trust Him means, of course, trying to do all that He says. There would be no sense in saying you trusted a person if you would not take his advice. Thus if you have really handed yourself over to Him, it must follow that you are trying to obey Him. But trying in a new way, a less worried way.

An amazing, can’t miss, book……
Yesterday I happened upon this book Kisses From Katie and upon seeing the cover my spirit was stirred. I knew I had to buy it and am so glad I did.
This book is the true story of a woman who at age 18 left a comfortable life behind and trusted God enough to let Him lead her into all that He had for her, even when it was not what she had expected it to be. She is now 22 and is the adoptive mother of 14 girls! Wow! Right!
I have not finished the book yet but I was struck by the chapter in which she describes how early on she struggled with (among other things) separation and loneliness at night while experiencing pure joy(among other things) during the day. She wraps up the chapter by saying…
“No matter how many contradictions I struggled with, how difficult certain situations were, no matter how lonely I got, one truth remained firmly grounded in my heart: I was in the center of God’s will; I was doing what I was created to do.”
Oh that we would be a people of such faith! That our willingness to trust God and follow Him into all that He has for us would far outweigh the struggles with “feelings” that we may encounter.

Being who you are called to be
God doesn’t make molds. We are each of us unique. Designed by Him for His Glory. As this article points out all God requires of us is our obedience to Him and the call He has placed on our lives.
Why Switchfoot won’t sing Christian songs.
What a great example Switchfoot is for those of us who are following God’s leading in our lives.
They are TRUSTING GOD to lead them, and are not swayed by what the “crowd” says.
