This man did what?

Not many people enjoy going to the doctor, but according to Reuters, in 1994, one London accountant took that to an extreme. The sixty-three-year-old man knew he needed bladder surgery but he could not overcome his fear of doctors and hospitals. So he self-reliantly did what had to be done: He tried to perform the surgery on himself. Tragically he got an infection from the self-surgery and later died. The coroner said, “Unfortunately, [his] drastic remedy went wrong. A simple operation would have solved the problem.”

Just as this man didn’t trust doctors or hospitals, many people don’t trust God. In their self-reliance, they destroy themselves.

Why trusting God is important

“Because you trusted me, I will give you your life as a reward. I will rescue you and keep you safe. I, the Lord, have spoken!’ ”” (Jeremiah 39:18, NLT)

God is faithful

“God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. ” (1 Corinthians 1:9, AMP)

I refuse to do it anymore!

I refuse to look behind me and be ashamed.

I refuse to look around me and be dismayed.

I refuse to look in front of me and be fearful.

I, as a Christian, am called to put my trust in Jesus Christ and believe, really believe that He will:

Make something beautiful out of the shattered glass of my past.

Be with me and make a way in my present.

and not allow the enemy the final word in my future.

When  I stop trusting in the goodness of God,

when I stop believing that He will show up and show out in my life,

when I stop trusting that He knows the end from the beginning,

and that He knows what my future holds and is the one who holds my future

When I stop trusting God,

The enemy will have won

And I REFUSE to give him the victory anymore!

Mother Teresa says it best

“Let nothing perturb you, nothing frighten you. All things pass. God does not change. Patience achieves everything.”
