Shaking my head

path

Sometimes I just have to shake my head at my own doubts about Gods’s faithfulness.

If He has been faithful ever other time in my life, why would he not be faithful now!

It is so easy to lose track, when the world is spinning all around you and you feel as if the rug will be pulled out from under you.

But as Deuteronomy 7:9 says

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.

He is faithful to lead and guide us 100% of the time. And even if we get ourselves off track He will bring us back around to where we need to be.

If you are unsure of a decision give it to God.

Say “I am going to do this thing God if I am wrong change my direction to the way that I should go.”

He will bring you into alignment of his perfect will for your life as you submit it to Him.

Don’t let this stop you

We should not let our fears hold us back from pursuing our hopes.
~ John Fitzgerald Kennedy

So much of my life was lived in fear. I wasted the first half of it because I simply did not trust God and was led by fear instead of truth.

As I started to lean on Him for the small things He proved faithful and my faith was strengthened.

God placed a hope in me that I would reach people and share the power of his love.

He also gave me a destination. England.

Because He has always come through before, it makes sense that His asking me to leave my job, and trust Him to pay all my bills, while getting me a job in a country I have never been to, would be a cakewalk.

That there would be no fear involved.

But that is not the case. It is scary, All kind of fears want to take space in my head, thereby holding me back from doing all that I have been called to do.

The thing is, I do not listen to my fears, I listen to God. I once read a quote that said Courage is fear that has said it’s prayers.

What a world it would be if we simply prayed every time fear tried to gain entry. If we simply allowed God to lead us into all that He has for us without fear stopping us before we even got out the door.

God places the feeling of hopefulness inside you to allow you to shut out the voice of fear.

Lean into that.

And stop allowing what you see to dictate what God can do in and through you.

God is FAITHFUL he will see you through!!!

How I learned to Finish Well

finishline

I once heard my pastor (at the time) preach a sermon series titled “Finishing Well” that talked about how even though your past may have been horrible, and in your present you may have struggles, you can still finish well.

I needed to hear that back then. So much so that I bought the series and listened to it over and over. From that point on I was determined that I would do what it took to “Finish Well!”

A lot of time has passed since then, and a lot of changes (some good some bad) have happened in my life.

And although I have not arrived yet I am setting my pace for the finish I desire.

What am I doing right? I am following the advice on those tapes I listened to.

I am leaning on and trusting in the God who created and saved me. The God who knows me and speaks to me daily leading me down the path that I should go.

The Bible says of God

You get us ready for life:

You probe for our soft spots,

You knock off our rough edges.

And I’m feeling so fit, so safe:

made right, kept right.

(Psalm 7:9–10, The Message)

Be determined to finish well and then do so by daily giving over your schedule to the one who made you  and is faithful to keep you right…where you need to be!

Good quote about faith

God does not expect us to submit our faith to him without reason, but the very limits of our reason make faith a necessity.

Augustine.
